Benefits of joining SLL Hockey and the USPHL

The USPHL, including all its tiers and conferences, has sent more than 8,000 players to college hockey at all levels (NCAA, ACHA etc) and more than 250 players to the pro level. Through the combination of high-level play, a well-established network of contacts, and heightened exposure, SLL Junior Hockey will create opportunities for its players to reach the next levels, whether that be at the junior, collegiate, or pro levels.

The canadian Division Of The Usphl Premier

The advent of the Canadian Division will officially mark the internationalization of the USPHL Premier in 2024-25, offering Junior-level hockey experience to a wider pool of players and creating more opportunities to be seen by stakeholders at higher levels such as the NCDC, USHL, NAHL, as well as college hockey.

The Canadian Division of the USPHL Premier will consist of six teams for the 24-25 Season.

The teams will play 44 games, consisting of 30 games within the division and 14 gamesduring the Premiershowcases in the United States as well as the playoffs.

The Usphl Premier

The USPHL Premier specializes in getting its players to NCAA Division III and ACHA Colleges at all levels as well as moving them up to the highest junior leagues such as the USHL, NAHL, NCDC, and the BCHL. This fits seamlessly with our mandate of getting our boys to the highest levels possible, especially as pertains to academics. From the standpoint of international players, the USPHL Premier provides the ideal league for players aged 18-20 to adapt to hockey in North America, which combined with Somang Hockey’s international DNA makes for a winning proposition.

The USPHL PREMIER (2023-2024) competes with a 61-team league with 9 divisions,ranging from Maine to Miami, and Seattle to San Diego. The CANADIAN DIVISION will become the 10th division from the 24-25 season onwards.

The LEAGUE (USPHL)

The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) is an American ice hockey league. Founded in 2012, the USPHL has grown to over 150 teams fielding more than 20,000 players in more than 100 organizations across the USA and Canada. The teams are geographically diverse, ranging from North and South to the Midwest, West Coast and also in Canada. The USPHL Junior Divisions consist of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) -Tier II Junior Hockey, and Premier and Elite Divisions. The NCDC Division is the top Tier of the USPHL League structure. The Premier and Elite Divisions are Tier III Junior Leagues, all geared toward college placement and beyond.

The USPHL is facilitating a clear pathway for players to advance through Junior Hockey on to college and pro hockey. Each division provides a step to fulfilling a player’s ultimate goal of becoming a collegiate or professional hockey player. Teams have been selected to participate in USPHL divisions based on geography, player pools, financial strength, history of success and integrity at the highest level.

USPHL membership consists of more than 100 members fielding over 150 teams with a geographic reach that spans the USA and Canada.
